Some, maybe even many, but probably not all have heard that the City of New York is suing Time's Up, the organizers of New York's Critical Mass bike rides (held the last Friday of every month, including this Friday, meeting at 7 PM at Union Square Park North) (UPDATED INFO ON LOCATION FOR TOMORROW HERE) - background information and updates on the lawsuit can be found here, and a useful primer on your bike rights here.
Anyway, one of my friends, Leah Rohrvig, is one of the co-defendants, and I am reposting her plea for legal funds. If you are in any position to help, please do:

Hi all - as most of you know I (and three other activists) am currently being sued by the City of
New York for my work promoting the Critical Mass bike ride. Unfortunately we were not able to find
the kind of pro-bono assistance we were hoping for and are now faced with raising the $30,000 in hard
costs associated with the case. In other words WE NEED LOTS OF MONEY, AND WE NEED IT RIGHT NOW.
Here are [two] ways you can help:
1. Donate to the Times Up! Bike Legal Defense Fund. Visit http://www.times-up.org/legal_newswire.php to make a donation today to our Paypal account!!You can also send a check to:
TIME'S UP! Bike Legal Defense Fund
P.O. Box 2030
New York, NY 10009
2. If you know someoneanyonewho cares about our First Amendment rights, Critical Mass in general,
or who you think would be interested in donating money, PLEASE SEND ME THEIR CONTACT INFORMATION. I will send them a formal funding appeal via mail or email (whichever you prefer) as well as copies of a couple of articles about the lawsuit. It could be your do-gooder aunt, your rich libertarian
Grandpa in Alaska, or your friend who works on Wall Street please send me their contact information today!! (leahrorvig -at- gmail.com)
There used to be a third way, but it was time sensitive, my bad! Anyway, help a sister out, Leah is top-flight activist talent and deserves your support, especially since this lawsuit is pretty fucked up OK?
