LONDON HEAT - SIDEWINDER

OK, after a lot of trial and more error, I've figured out how to make decent MP3s off all my vinyl, which is great for a lot of reasons but especially b/c I can upload some of the hotness I picked up whilst in London (big ups to Sammy Sanchez @ Black Market Records, look out for his forthcoming reggaeton tracks, internet!) - I didn't send any postcards or anything, but you'll agree that this is way better, won't you friends? 

I'll be uploading a few more in the days to come - so far I'm pretty pleased with the way they 'came out', despite some hissiness during the quieter bits, but I'm not even gonna try fucking with noise removal.  Just feel this -

ROLL DEEP VS RUFF SQWAD - SIDEWINDER

OMG, in how many ways is this track so awesome?? In SO many ways but especially -

* ROLL DEEP + RUFF SQWAD = great flavors that taste great together!, their styles work really well together in ways that I don't have the vocabulary to articulate (see also the awesome "All Day Long" b-side "Future" on that Lemon-Red from a couple days ago)

* Rhythmic gunshot/reload/shell casing samples are pretty much always awesome ('hola' Judd who would definitely be feeling this on RSS if he wasn't in Mexico, the country of course not the Ron) 

* The way the bassline switches up for each MC's verse is thoughtful and h-o-t-t

* Is it just me or does Wiley sound really fucking amped on this? Sounds like the Sqwad's heating up his eski-blood a little, pushing him harder than he's used to, cos he's spitting MEAN "it's Wiley and I'm getting em hyper / I get em dirtee like a baby diaper", for real!

* The guy who comes in around 2:15 (I don't really know all these dudes names, hate me OK) is going "bishop bishop / pawn pawn pawn," right? Is that not an excellent segue from yesterday's Papoose "Chess" post?  NO IT IS NOT NOT AN EXCELLENT SEGUE, unless I am just hearing what I want to hear (e.g. songs about chess)

PS UPDATE OK, no go on the chess segue - Pearsall Helms, who unlike me actually seriously knows what he's talking about, has lyrical clarifications and the MC batting order in the comments. Thanks dude!
