Yo, the young painting phenom Greg 'Parma' Smith will be 'showing' for real starting TONITE from 6-8 PM, the opening for a new exhibition at the Daniel Reich Gallery (in Chelsea!) called "Desired Constellations" that will include Greg's 'careful moments' of 'cartoon death' - you may remember his haunting paintings "Pissing Death," "Burial of Death", and "Death Match", as featured in this space a couple months ago.  The group exhibit will also feature the work of one Paul Heyer, whose paintings (with brushstrokes that cause physical appearances to fluctuate wildly very much like the magnitude of the variable star Mira, also known as "The Wonderful") I have never seen before - but will.  Painting's not dead, these hos just scared, you see it everywhere, but it starts in your head, &c

pissing death

& hopefully I'll have time to bike over to Deitch's opening of post-graffitist Swoon's big installation, which Tod and A'yen have been working on - and which may (?) feature performances by art-school pop-punx Japanther and Matt & Kim as well as Poor Boy Jonson who I think is Matt's brother Fletcher right? and The Goddamned Rattlesnake, who is Tod's roommate I think?

Oh, art, oh music!  If pimping your friends' cool projects was sculpture I'd be the Frank Stella of this shit -
