Wow, what a perfect way to wrap up the campaign - a meandering, hollow, condescending speech mostly full of platitudes, some good, some silly, all of it completely uncompelling. A good reminder of why Kerry lost. Watched at the office here, lots of snorts of derision at the feel-good lines about America being great and good and Americans being winners - I thought that was the coolest line actually,
"There are no losers in American elections, because when we wake up the next morning, we are all Americans!" No one else was laughing, really, but I thought it was funny. Appreciated the sentence on succeeding in Iraq and winning the war on terror - again, definitely the only one in the room. Definitely some tears shed in the room at various points.
