Totally 100% all about listening to these highlights from the 'Electric Highlife: Sessions from the Bokoor Studios' comp (thx Steev!) all day everyday these past couple of days, and all weekend from the looks of it. Highlife is a Ghanian-birthed genre that's been around since the early 20th century and helped define that 'West African' sound, but these beautiful, sad tracks are all the more amazing for having been recorded in the capital Accra during the relatively ah intense early '80s years of Ghana's new military guv. Other song titles from the comp include 'If One Person Doesn't Know, Another Will Tell Him or Her', 'Limit the Way You Spoil Me', 'I Am Too Broke' -
